Corn starch is a versatile raw material, easily modified, and has many uses in many industries, as follows:
- Used to increase viscosity and stability (Thickener & Stabilizer) in sauces, soups, dipping sauces, prevent separation, will give a clearer texture than other types of flour.
- Used as a binder in meatballs, nuggets, various processed meats.
- Increase crispness In fried food products, crispy flour
- Increase yield in processed meat, bread, cake
- Provide moisture and firmness (Juicy & Firmness)
- As a raw material for making corn syrup and other sugars
- Used as an ingredient in food and raw materials such as bread crumbs, biscuits, MSG and noodles
- Adhesive in paper products, as an anti-adhesive agent and in textile production
- Used as an anti-caking agent in icing or confectioner’s sugar. A popular substitute is tapioca starch, which can be used to replace corn starch in equal amounts.
